Off to a late start this morning. I volunteered to help with a friend's event, yet again. I guess I'm just stalling because it's Saturday and don't really feel like leaving the house just yet. It's freezing in the house right now. Good thing I have my little space heater. Weather jokers said it was going to rain today. They might just be right this time. The gloom kind of matches the mood I've been in all week, especially with the mind stimulations I've been getting these past few days.
The Idiot is back in office. Wonderful! The Rights are pretty much in control across the board....great! I cannot wait for these next four years. Thank goodness Senate elections are in two more years. Maybe that'll help even some things out a bit. That's about all we liberal-minded folks can ask for, I guess. I was so angry the other day, I started to write an email I was going to send straight to The Idiot. I had to delete the first version. I probably would have been labeled a potential terrorist. The second version sounded as if I was a potential assassin...still working on the latest version.
Also got word that Macapagal Arroyo, one of The Idiot's puppets, is going to dessicrate USF, my school. She's doing some kind of national tour and being given an honorary doctorate by the University. I would so protest! I could not believe it! With all the human rights violations that have happened under her rule in the past four years, the University, with it's great value to promote "a culture of service that respects and promotes the dignity of every person," is honoring a person like her. I'm going to send them some proof of her wonderful work with the Philippine People.
I continue to feel compelled to fight against injustices primarily because of my experience at USF. I began to learn so much about theological liberation and social justice when I was there. Everything in my being is telling me not to let this go without a fight.
Just by chance, I attended a documentary showing last night. It was about the human rights violations that have occured primarily under The Puppet's rule. It was the most graphic thing I have seen in such a long time. But it was the truth and if you're going to tell me something about the world, just give it to me straight - no fluffing. Hopefully, with Fr. Privett's (USF President) experience in El Salvador and working with the indigenous groups there and fighting against human rights violations, he'll feel compelled to as least think of USF's continued support for The Puppet.
